Re-set, Re-start, Re-Fresh

With the new year upon us our LackSafe team are preparing for another busy year ahead.

Our LackSafe program is centred around achieving a culture at work where “everyone looks out for everyone” and we are actively involved in making what we do “a safe and healthier place to work”.

Our commitment is to “every person going home safe and healthy, every day”.

A key component of our LackSafe program is employee engagement ranging from engagement initiatives, employee awareness, support programs and ultimately “having a say in what they do”.

Wonderful turn out this morning to our LackSafe engagement and BBQ session that was held at our Goonellabah depot, where Kyle and Andrew delivered consistency in key topics following yesterday’s session in South Australia.

Adelaide LackSafe BBQ

Lack Group’s Executive Director Kyle and our Group Manager for Commercial and Risk Andrew, conducted our monthly LackSafe engagement and BBQ session this morning at our Adelaide depot.

The key topics for this morning included; Road Safety during Fire and Floods, Driver Awareness Training, Safe Work Procedures and effective communication in the workplace.

Andrew also took the opportunity to remind our team of MATES in Construction, an important reminder to know that there is help out there, and you are not alone.

A fantastic commitment from our dedicated team this morning and representing the company’s four core values: Professionalism, Commitment, Communication and Safety.

Natural Disasters

With the current bush fires tearing through large parts of the Australian Capital Territory and Southern Coast of New South Wales we would like to take a moment to remind everyone of the importance of safety and staying alert during these harsh conditions.

Unfortunately the bush fires are not the only natural events devastating Australia as the floods in South Australia continue to cause havoc. As the water rises we want people to remember, if the road is flooded, hold safe lacksafe culture during these tough conditions.

NSWRFS Respiratory Donation

Lack Group have proudly joined the donation efforts of multiple contractors on the Sydney Metro project by donating 2000 3M P2 respiratory masks. These contractors have come together to donate thousands of 3M P2 Respiratory Masks in support for the NSWRFS.

When we were made aware that NSWRFS members were allocated one or two masks per day, Lack group were happy to join the cause to donate much need respiratory supplies.

With the generosity provided by these companies, the NSWRFS members now have the much needed supplies to continue the highly admired volunteer work.

Thank you to all New South Wales Rural Fire Fighters and their families for their dedicated work.

Tweed Coast Hospital

Lack Group Constructions would like to acknowledge all our employees on the Tweed Coast, also the traditional lands of the Bundjalung people and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

Lack Group’s key initiative is our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement strategy, which is committed to creating employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

We are a proud Registered Supplier with Supply Nation, Australia’s first Indigenous supplier diversity council dedicated to growing the work opportunities available and by facilitating connections between Indigenous businesses and our members’ procurement departments across Australia.

Merry Christmas Team.

Country Community Comes Together

We know that every little bit helps and in times of hardship the country community comes together.

We would like to thank Glenn and his staff at Shorts Butchery for partnering with us to provide some meat vouchers to the Narromine and local communities to families affected by the current difficult conditions.

LackSafe Winner - October 2019

LackSafe Field Coordinator, Stewart, congratulates the winners of our LackSafe Employee’s of the Month Award for October 2019.

Indyanna and Rachel are joint winners this month after being nominated by one of our clients for their outstanding work contribution, safety focus, positive attitudes and effective manner in which they communicate with all.

Congratulations to both Indyanna and Rachel for their commitment to our LackSafe program and constantly displaying the company’s 4 core values of Professionalism, Commitment, Communication and Safety.

Bush Fire Awareness

As most of you are aware, we are currently going through one of the worst bush fires ever seen in Australia. As flames tear through large parts of New South Wales, firefighters, volunteers and charity workers are providing round-the-clock support for those devastated by the ongoing bushfires.

Lack Group would like to acknowledge the hard work, support and dedication our crews have shown these past months during these tough times. These traffic controllers are exposed to harsher conditions not limited to, poor visibility and smoky conditions, remote and excluded areas and come face to face with the true devastation that threatens the native land with its flora, fauna and our livelihood.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication.

Pacific Highway Closure

Pacific Highway closure - On Monday and Tuesday night our Gold Coast team performed a scheduled shutdown of the Pacific Highway on behalf of RMS so they could conduct routine maintenance. The highway was closed from 2000 and 0500 between Stuarts Road and the GC Highway exits with a detailed detour set up to and from the highway.

Great work from all 14 of our Gold Coast team members who ensured a smooth set up and transitioning of the detour works.

Prior to the shutdown commencing we performed two Toolbox talks 1. Mates in Constructions (MIC) and 2. Importance of Safety, PPE and Team Culture within the Lack Group.
